Ben Ridge > Another weekend we attempted to go swimming with dolphins in Picton.  The boat never found any dolphins, but it was still a beautiful day and we got to see a lot of the sounds.
Ben Ridge > Here's a fantail bird.  When they are in flight their tail folds out into a fan (thus the name), but it was hard enough just getting this photo of one sitting still.  The would give a hummingbird a good run for the money.

Ben Ridge > A picturesque grove of Kanuka trees.
Ben Ridge > Fifeshore rock, near the Nelson Port.  Large boats used to have to squeeze through this spot, with some of them often crashing.  Nelson eventually cleared another place for them to enter the port.
Ben Ridge > This is a great mural on the side of a port building.  I've been wanting to take a photo of this for a while. 'Aotearoa' is the native word for New Zealand; it means 'Land of the big white cloud'.
